Carrying Contradictions

Socrates didn't write anything.

I've committed to write this.

Our brains hold opposites

What is my experience but a random sample of one?

What evidence do I have?

Who has the know how?

Who are the controlling authorities?

Trust my instincts

Ask permission

Time is an event

Time is a measurable distance

My brain doesn't like to hold opposites

Two things can be true and contradictory

Life is short

Life is long

Yesterday, I had no one to help me hang the sunshades

The memory of Ian's having helped me, helped.

Opposites require discernment.

The starting path to discernment is to turn the dim bulb of our twenty-watts of cognition, first on one side of an opposite: for example, trust my instincts. Then turn the light on the opposite: ask permission.

As I write this thought experiment, unbidden, a piece of discernment showed up: here's what my instinct points toward; whose buy-in will make it more likely to succeed?

Socrates didn't write anything.

I'm thinking I should add a voice recording to these texts.

Warm regards,

Francis Sopper
