Sunday

Lesson one: Our reflexive and often misguided responses to opportunities and threats

Sunday.

I have no scheduled appointments.

Trying to be metacognitive of my attention being captured by opportunities and threats.

Looking out the bedroom window, a deer is eating the blackberries.

Can we organize a cook out for the 70th anniversary of the interstate highway system?

Put California franchise board on next action for accountant.

Invasive hathorn, buckthorn, bittersweet, English Ivy all rapidly going from flower to seed.

Heavy rain last night -- check attic for moisture or leaks.

Fireplace tools still sitting on an office chair.

Indoor mouldings need repainting.

Outdoor sunshade should be replaced.

A lot of these are bothersome.

Are any worth my attention?

Chive flowers moving rapidly to seed.

Garlic needs weeding so scapes can rise.

Vegetable garden fence and fence around the young cherry look shabby.

My work shoes need attention from the cobbler.

Everywhere I look there's needful and useful stuff I don't need or use. When will it be worth my time to deal with distributing it?

A dark cloud bank is approaching from the south, Check the weather app.

At what point will the temperature shift so I should close doors and windows to keep the warming air out?

Mail or drop off Cady's charger cord?

I need a walk.

I haven't written this week's post.

Only the last two are worth my attention right now.

And they are opposites.

And they are both true.

Lesson two: Time as an event. Time as movement.
