The power of ten

Some things are best accomplished over extended periods of time.

We need time to just be.

We need time to collect and capture what has our attention, evaluate where we want to focus that attention, and direct our compass toward our best.

We need time to maintain our health and fitness.

All this time takes time.

You can do it. It takes conscious awareness of the intersection of your time, attention, and energy supported by a deliberate practice of bringing them together.

It’s not as hard as it sounds. At GTD® Focus, it’s our job to get you there.

Today, however: baby steps.

Take a ten-minute just-be-in-the moment break: put the phone down, step away from the desk. Breathe. Look. Listen.

Take a ten-minute exercise break: Gretchen Reynolds gets it down to seven. Stretch it out a bit.

Take ten-minutes to capture, review, and evaluate one important thing that has your attention. Call it a mini Weekly Review

Then find ten-minutes three times in the morning and three times in the afternoon. Now you’ve got a solid hour. Do that every day, and you’ve added 5 highly productive hours to your work week.

Imagine what you can accomplish by adding 5 highly-focused hours to your work week.
